Unfortunately for him, Kaylie was one of the last people to believe in psychics. Then again, she didn't believe in werewolves and ended up nearly being eaten by one. She also didn't believe in people being immortal, and yet was tangled up in some confusion of a possible relationship with one. The status on the latter was still up in the air.
Once he was up,she was moving, her back still pressed against the wall while her eyes searched for an exit. Was there one upstairs? Well, sure she could run back up to the apartment and out a window...though chances of surviving without any broken bones would be slim. When his hand rose, her body froze, lips still parted enough to show the edges of her teeth.
"You won't get any jobs? Well gee, good to know that's important!" She let out with a rough sigh, looking around for an exit that was opposite of him. She lifted a hand to point at him just slightly, hand visible shaking despite her attempts to stop it. "You...You ain't a psychic. Psychics are like that Miss Cleo bullshit. Psychics don't go flying back on their ass like you did! Somethin' is going on here, and I don't know what the hell it is but I want none of it, you hear me?! I came here for a normal life. Normal! Don't feed me bullshit, Lance!"
She paused, swallowing hard and looking around. Well...the closest and quickest way to get through her car meant going by him. Which may not work too well with all she was yelling at him. Reaching up her shaking hand, she ran it through her hair roughly. Shoving the strands out of her face, she pressed her lips together tightly before attempting to speak again. Doing her best to lower her voice, she couldn't help the shake that laced it, and silently kicked herself for letting the fear show.
"Look, I don't know what's going on...You can tell me all you want, I don't care, and I won't tell anyone, y'hear me? I just...I'll leave, 'kay? I won't say anything, I don't know anyone here to say anything too anyway...So how's that sound? Good?"

You should have handled it my way Lancey darling
Fighting the urge to roll his eyes at his horny inner demon, Lance sighed. Why did Ravenna believe that every argument with a woman could be handled with sex? Oh right, stupid question, she was a succubus! The only thing she liked more than sex was tormenting him and see him risk his life back at Boston, hooray he should be freaking honored.
Great, remember to breathe again. Getting angry wouldn’t help anything.
Especially when the girl he was trying to calm down looked at him like he was Hannibal Lecter about to have her for a midnight snack.
Pulling his right hand to his face, he closed his eyes for a second and buried his head in the palm of his hand. He had better think about something better to say, and quick before she went around screaming for the cops and telling them he was some sort of menace.
“Look, I’m not bullshiting you! I’m telling you the truth, I didn’t want any of this, hell I came here hoping to get away from all of it and start over. No visions, no investigating, no one trying to kill me because I got to close…just messing with cars like my father taught me. I can make everything run like it was new, even better and…”
Oh great way to make her believe you’re not insane, babble on.
“Look I…” he took a deep sigh and stepped back defeated, “If you want to go that’s fine I won’t stop you. Take your car and I won’t charge you or anything.”
What he was supposed to do? – No Ravenna, shut up! Like that would solve anything, grow up, seriously! –
He couldn’t just pack up and move on like he had done back in Boston, he had all his savings invested on that shop. No, he had to stay and hope people would look at his work and not consider that he acted like a freak, because people was just understanding like that, right?
Brows furrowing, something she had said just registered in his mind.
“Wait a minute, did you say normal?”

She sank back against the wall slightly, reaching a hand up to run it over her face. Already she felt exhausted, just staring at him and trying to listen to everything he said. Was there not a normal town out there? Her legs visibly shook beneath her.
"I don't want to know about...visions, or anything like that," she said, trying to keep her voice strong. Shaking her head, she finally dropped her hand from her face, staring at him through the strands of hair that fell forward. She shut her eyes tightly, lifting her hands to dig her palms into them. She didn't want to believe this was happening...She wanted to just wake up. Back in her bed, in an empty room, in this new town...Before she ran into anyone.
Dropping her hands, she stared up at him for a few seconds. "I won't tell anyone...I-I promise..." she shifted, pushing off the wall and trying to back towards the exit. Already, she was running a thousand scenarios through her head. She'd switch cars for a bit, use one of the others she transported down, and avoid this area for a while. Hell, she'd only leave her house, and put in an alarm system. Just incase.
Her eyes rested on him the entire time. She wanted to say something...She just didn't know what. This had seemed like a great bond, a great friendship, forming....But in the blink of an eye it all fell through. Opening her mouth, she stopped and pressed her lips together tightly after a moment. Glancing sideways, she looked at the door, walking towards it at a slightly quicker pace. Those dark eyes, however, stayed locked on him. The one time they looked away for longer than just a flash of a second, she was hit by his question. Instantly her body froze and her eyes darted back to him.
"So what if I did?" She asked, voice shaking slightly despite her attempt to keep it strong. "I've had my share of werewolves and demons and some guy who can't die....So yes, I said normal..."
[ooc: So sorry this is so late and not great at all ;-; ]

Oh great, just great!
Was she staring at him like he was some freaking psycho? Yeah she was. That was really good for business, wasn’t it? Yeah, he was royally screwed.
He could tell that when even Ravenna had shut up mercifully and wasn’t babbling anymore inappropriate remarks on how she believed he could solve things. He would hand it out for that girl, she had silenced the demon inside his head, it was a first.
And talk about the first time he heard someone mention werewolves and guys who couldn’t die.
Frowning, he tilted his head and eyed her, a nervous smile trailing his lips. “Are you kidding me, right?”
Yeah sure she was idiot. She was mocking him with that story, come on, werewolves, immortals? Frankly! Wonderful, he would be the laughing stock of town…come and see the freak with visions.
Oh Lancey darling, did you think you and me were the only unnatural things out there? You’re lucky you look good because you’re not the brightest of the pack, are you?
His jaw dropped and his eyes went wide. “You mean her…? You…you’re not kidding me?”
And there was the sudden attack of nervous laughter as Lance let his body slide down and seat on the floor with his back leaning against the car behind him. “And here was I thinking I was the only freak out there!”
He just couldn’t figure yet if he found it comforting or disturbing. Now was he supposed to believe all crappy ideas for horror movies were real because he was one of those? Because times like this he wondered if he wasn’t playing a bad script written by some deranged dude.
Leaning his head back, he gave out a nervous laughter.
"And here was I thinking I was the only freak here..."

His laughter threw her off, leaving Kaylie there with a dumbfounded look to her face. Her jaw was hanging slightly open, the edges of her teeth just visible through pale lips as she soaked in his reaction. What was this, a joke?
"They're not freaks!" She was suddenly defensive, snapping out the words in the blink of an eye before she returned to her previous state. "They're good people!" Well...some were. Not really when they tried to eat her, but Kaylie had put that behind her. Sort of.
She stayed in her spot, staring at him for a few seconds. Studying his sudden change in demeanor, her brows furrowed. Had he not really known that there was more out there? Was she anywhere near this when she started finding out what else the world held? It took her a few seconds, but she finally swallowed hard and spoke up again, voice suddenly softer than before.
"Did you not really know?" She asked and then, before she could control herself, asked yet another. "Do you only have visions? About what?"

It took him a while to be able to stop that nervous laughter. All the while feeling like a freak, he had just discovered he wasn’t the only one leading a strange life out there…if you’d consider having a demon stuck in his mind and having visions to be strange.
And she suddenly sounded defensive…he had no idea of whom or what, but the stare she was giving him right them helped him to focus and stop laughing.
“I must have missed the orientation class,” he replied to her with a sigh. He was supposed to suddenly start believing and undying guys and werewolves just because he had a demon in his mind? What else he was supposed to believe into, fairies and unicorns? Yeah right, it was downright absurd.
He might as well share his story with her, well at least part of it, better leave Ravenna out of this.
“I first found out about the visions back at Boston. I had a girlfriend who was a cop and when I touched some evidence on the top of her desk I saw something about the murder case that no one knew. It was creepy, but she hooked me up with a detective and the police hired me as a psychic consultant. Unfortunately this career line came with people wanting to throw me into a meat grinder or stab with icepicks, what you know…murderers aren’t the nicest bunch around. I’ve came to New Orleans to start a new life, fix cars and not have psychos trying to kill me. That girl from before, she wasn’t an ex, she heard of my work on Boston and wanted me to help with a missing person case, but I’m done with that job.”
Then raising a brow he pulled to his feet.
“And what about you? Undying guys and weres you said?”

Kaylie stared at him, feeling her stomach slowly starting to turn. Her head began spinning, and she quickly put her hand to her forehead as a way to steady herself. This was all too much...Just way too much for her. She wasn't going to even question what would happen next. When he explained everything, she shut her eyes and listened. This still didn't explain about him flying back earlier, but she waited to question that. When he was done, she dropped her hand and looked at him with a tired expression.
"Immortals and werewolves...Yeah, I--" But then she stopped, suddenly getting a defensive look again. "How do I know you're telling the truth?" She suddenly asked. Hell, that was a question to throw at her, but she wouldn't turn the tables just yet. Besides, she wasn't an actress....Did one really think she could make up such a reaction or fit? "You fell back before....Prove it to me you're telling the truth," she demanded, nodding as if satisfied with her offer. "Do you just touch stuff and know things?" Her brows furrowed, her mind jumping all over the place. She paused a moment before slowly holding out a shaking hand. "Then tell me something about me. Can you do that?"
[bahhhhh so sorry this took so long! D: ;-; I'm sorry!]

Yeah, talk about a messed up situation. Until a moment ago he believed he was the only freak in that place. You know when people would say they had to deal with their inner demons? Thing was, his inner demon was real and she had a hornier than tow attitude to boot. She wasn’t all bad, sometimes Lance liked her, she was fun, caring and protective of him. Not to mention the major boost of strength and endurance she gave him simply by being in his head.
And there was the psychic side of it too.
Somehow she made his erract and unreliable work like a charm, even though he couldn’t quite choose what he did see or when, it was more like getting caught in the undercurrent and drifting, call it like watching a movie, chopped as hell and that gave him one heck of a headache.
He eyed Kaylie’s hand and shook his head. “Look, it doesn’t work like that. I can’t choose what and when…”
Maybe there is a way Lancey. Most of times you’re fighting it, so only the strong undercurrent gets to you. Let me help you darling, open your mind and let me guide your steps.
Lance frowned, he wasn’t so sure about that. He had been trying to bury the psychic part of it. Why would he want to be a freak? No he wanted a normal life.
Or you can let her walk out of here and tell everyone you’re a nutcase.
Great! She was right, he had no choice. Giving Kaylie a resigned look, he took a step forward and took her hand in his. Closing his eyes, he waited. And for a while nothing happened, like it was a great waste of ti- suddenly, he flinched and tossed his head back, holding tight to the woman’s hand. The vision was coming to him like a bullet to the brains, but he focused into Ravenna’s soothing voice and slowly the pain receded and he let go of Kaylie’s hand, stepping back.
Still with his eyes closed, he took a deep sigh and just then opened his eyes to gaze back at her.
“Damien…he was your brother right? He really loved you. In one of those races, you two got into a fight. You woke up in the hospital and he…he…didn’t woke up. I’m sorry.”
It was for times like these that he really hated his ‘gift’.
