Inara walked into the danceclub, a smile lightning up her face as she looked around. It was dance but shafts of bright light lit up the dancefloor where people were dancing. The music was loud but Inara barely noticed it.
She walked to the edge of the dancefloor, the light making the sequens on her shirt light up as she past through them. the music started to beat against Inara's mind, making her focus on the beat. Her body started to twist and sway to the music and she slipped through everyone, heading for the middle where she could be amongst the crush of bodies.
Letting the music wash over her and control her body, Inara turned her focus to the people around her, searching for a new boyfriend. There were several that caught her eye but none kept her attention for long before she moved on. It was getting harder to focus on the humans, they were just so... insipid.
Inara let her eyes close and allowed herself to forget all about the humans, her trips to and fro through the veils, her father, everything. She let the music take over her mind, letting it draw long forgotten dreams from her subconscious.

There's always that one person in the clubs. The one guy off to the side, leaning on the wall, watching everyone, giving off that creepy vibe. Of course, it didn't work quite that way in this case; sure, half-demons could be intimidating, but defaulting to their humanoid state as they did, it came off as more of a dark charm, or at least it did in Eryle's case.
Somehow, the light around him seemed to fade, yet nobody took notice of the pocket of shadow he created, subtle as it came across and with humanity's natural delusions and explanations for themselves. But he apparently wasn't the only inhuman one there. -Something- was registering on his sixth sense of sorts, he only wished he could easily veil his eyes so he could take a closer look. However, they glowed when he used that ability, and even the most naive human knows glowing red eyes are unnatural.
Still, his curiosity was now piqued, and he had one other way to do this (Other than trying to telepathically scan a hundred people at once). With physical contact, he could get a 'feel', nearly literally, for the aura given off by individuals. And in such a place, there was one way he could do that, if not his preferred method of investigation.
Sighing, he stands up from the wall, walking towards the dance floor to get absorbed in the heated motions of the crowd...

Inara continued dancing, her mind lost in the beat until something stirred her mind back into action. There was someone here that didn't quite belong and Inara wasn't sure she really wanted to know. She stopped dancing suddenly, realising that now she was in the middle of the dancers, she couldn't quite get back to the edge without blasting someone.
Inara tried to wriggle between some of the dancers to get to the edge but they pushed her back into her spot, their minds lost to the music as hers had been. Finally giving up Inara let her mind wander, returning to the dance, hoping that whatever it had been was gone, or wouldn't hurt her if it came close.
The music changed suddenly, a fast, hypnotic beat. It whirled into inara's mind and carried it far away, leaving her little more than a slave to the music. she moved with the crowd, unknowingly moving back towards the demon-man.
I wonder what it was... In any case it's gone now... her thoughts were muffled by the music and she smothered them easily, just wanting to dance and not run into some trouble or other.

Despite his dislike of dancing to techno- he was more of a classical, salsa, jazz, or other -actual- music sort of guy- he seemed to flow into the crowd just fine, his body moving in a smooth manner as he slid through, getting a feel of those around him, his eyes actually closed as he focused on each individual.
He was getting nothing...well, except a few odd gropes here and there, but that wasn't what he was aiming for. Perhaps a couple tinges of buried psychic residue or other little remnants of the supernatural clinging to various mortals, but that wasn't what he felt.
There
His eyes dart open suddenly as he brushes against a girl, looking to Inara as a smirk played across his features. For the moment, he just moved to look like he was trying to dance with her to the extent one could be dancing with anyone in particular in such a dance floor.
Within a few moments, he got a read on her. For now though, he just kept dancing, and did his best to keep his own aura supressed...not all fae were very tolerant of demons, and most didn't know the difference between a full one and a half-breed

Inara felt the thing brush against her and she longed to burst free of the crowd but she didn't know what it was and why it was interested in her. She brought her mind back to her body and opened her eyes, looking up at... the amazing hot guy that was dancing next to her.
She gave him a shy smile and ducked her head, hiding behind her hair slightly. He gave off an odd feeling but he was so hot that Inara was perfectly happy to ignore the warning. Inara continued to dance and moved against the boy. She knew that he was the one she wanted to play with this time.
Inara suddenly wished she was back at home, in one of her dresses that left nothing to the imagination than here, wearing jeans and a shirt which confined her. She shrugged the feeling off and moved away from the man slightly, wondering if her would follow her to the bar.

Worked brilliantly, it seemed, and a sly smile washed over his face as the girl's eyes first looked to him. Nature hidden or not, he did have the bit of demonic charisma always leaking through. Whatever the case, he didn't need to put in so much effort anymore.
He danced with her for as long as she'd want to, and then noticed her slowly moving off from the floor towards the bar, actually sighing a bit in relief as they left the floor, a bit more comfortable outside of the direct flashing lights and heated forms.
As soon as they were far enough outside of the center of the room that he could be heard, he spoke, his voice having a dark yet hypnotic tinge to it, "Well, aren't you quite the dancer"
Innocuous enough. Needed to get a better read on her, and he was nothing if not patient.

Inara looked over the man now that they were out of the crowd and her heart twinged slightly. Maybe it was a mistake to choose him. she thought. When he spoke a shiver ran up Inara's spine. "No, I don't actually know how to dance, my body just does it for me." Inara said over the music.
She sat down on a stool and crossed her legs. The bartender came over but Inara shook her head. Now was no time for alcohol. she studied the man in front of her, looking at him from her Fae side, not her human side. There was a slight aura around him that she couldn't quite look at. Demon... maybe... she thought. "My name's Ina. What's yours?" she asked, not using her full name, that was just stupid.
She looked at the selection of alcohol on the wall while she waited for him to answer. inara let one hand fall to her boot and fiddled with the hilt of the dagger she had hidden there, silently activating the spell on it. She loved the dagger's power and always kept it close by, even though it was probably usless on the man next to her, she felt comforted by the fact the spell was on.

He chuckles lightly at her response, "Well then, your body knows what it's doing, at any rate", he replies, still smirking, as he let his aura expand a bit, revealing his nature more clearly but at the same time making him appear all the more naturally....intriguing
That close to her, he could feel the scrutiny of his form, but ignored it for now. She wasn't trying to lead him through a portal to his death or running in fear, so either she didn't quite care or she couldn't properly get a read. Either way worked for him.
"Call me Eric for now", he says with a nod as he takes a seat next to her at the bar, glancing to the various drinks but seeming largely uninterested with what was there.
Of course, the magic on her dagger caught his attention, and in a slight slip he let his eyes dart towards it as she activated it before looking back to her curiously. He couldn't tell what it was but he now kne whe needed to be a bit careful until he had a better idea.

Inara smiled, her eyes lighting up. "Eric... I like it. I think it suits you." she said. Her figners left her dagger and started to trace patterns on the bar. It was a swirling design but had no real magic nor meaning behind it. she hadn't seen him look towards her dagger but she had sensed it. She didn't care if he knew it was there, it was more for her comfort than anything else.
Inara let her eyes wander over him, a small smile on her lips. Her hand came up to fiddle with the necklace around her neck, it had an owl pendant on it and the dark purple gems that where the owl's eyes seemed to glow with knowledge. Inara shifted and leaned closer.
"Are you a demon?" she asked. "Or... are you something else. I'm just curious, my education hasn't been quite what it should've been I suppose, I'm still really a baby in my kind's eyes."
Inara bit her lip then straightened, looking to the alcohol again. She nodded to the bartender and asked for a sprite, hoping they had it here.

He was obviously an overly alert sort, his eyes seeming to follow her various motions, from her fingers tracing along the bar to her fiddling with the amulet around her neck, and then studying the pendant itself a moment, "Likewise with yours, Ina", he says with a light chuckle.
As she leans forward and asks her question, he frowns a bit at the sudden bluntness, even in a crowded, busy place. He glances around, noticing an empty booth secluded in the corner of the place, and moves to take her hand, and if she didn't resist, lead her over there, sitting across from her. Sighing, he leans forward, speaking quietly to her.
"Even Fae know when to be subtle", he says with a frown, then sighing again, considering how to answer her, "But to answer your question....yes and no. I am a half demon....and a warlock. So most confuse me for being one", he explains to her quietly, drumming his fingers on the table.
He then takes on a bit of a curious look, leaning towards her again, "SO may I ask what one of your sort is doing here in the first place?", he asks inquisitively.

Inara allowed herself to be led over after grabbing the sprite the bartender handed to her. She felt herself blushing at the comment about Fae's subtleness. "A half-demon, that's interesting..." she said, though her heart wasn't in it anymore, she had made a fool of herself and was considering slipping away.
When Eric leaned forward and asked what she was doing here Inara was surprised. "I... I grew up here." she said hesitantly. "I mean, my father was a human. but I suppose he wasn't really my father..." Inara shut her mouth tightly, not wanting her words to run away with her. She had lived a hundred years with humans and they had no surprises for her, but put her in a room of Fae or any other magical creature and she would make a total fool of herself like she was now.
Inara mentally scolded herself, her hands gripping the sharp edges of the owl pendant. She forced herself to look into Eric's eyes and not get distracted by trying to follow the many shadows she could see curling behind them.

He listened to her, nodding at her answer, but frowned as he noticed her reaction, moving his hand to brush against her cheek and gently guide her face to look up at him more directly, "You seem nervous....", he says, looking contemplative.
Hopefully she wouldn't take the following as malevolent mind control, but as he gazed to her his innate demonic talent reached into her mind, seeking to unravel her inhibitions a bit, relaxing he rin his presence. Might have other side effects past making her less blatantly nervous, but she seemed to need it.
"Now then...tell me a bit about your kind...i know only the basics, fae are my least knowledgable subject of the supernatural world", he requests with a curious gaze.
Odd as it was, he was a very curious sort, more looking to learn about the other supernatural individuals in the world than to subvert or control them.

Inara felt her nervousness fade away and smiled gratefully at Eric. An emotion rose out of no where and she shoved it down angrily, not showing anything of her battle on her now peaceful face. "I'm afraid I don't know much more than you. I've only been to Fae a few times and they were all by accident. I was raised as a human and I'm much more comfortable around them than any magical being. I suppose because they are so simple to read." Inara's eyes turned to gaze at the dancefloor, watching the humans dance away their energies.
She looked back to Eric with a sheepish grin. "People like you, with your shadows in your eyes, make me nervous. I forget that I have just as much right to see the other world as I do to see this world."
She sipped her Sprite, her eyes closing as the sweet liquid flowed into her mouth. Apart from alcohol, it was the only human-made drink that Inara would have. The synthetic sweetness was perfect and almost tasted like a natural drink. Almost.

He frowns a bit at her lack of knowledge, but the fact that she was raised as a mortal was intriguing to him anyway, "Interesting", he says, considering that, "I have always wanted to try travelling to the fae realms...but such a thing is perhaps dangerous to those not natively meant to", he muses.
"But other magical sorts are so much more interesting than mortals...", he replies, tilting his head, then looking down to his hand, visible to her but hidden form sight of the rest of the room, where he playfully let the shadows swirl and dance in his hand, "The sorts of things you can learn...and experience", he muses.
His gaze continually penetrated her, if no longer supernaturally enhanced to do so, at least not past his innate resonance. He seemed eager to get her to share his opinion on that, for whatever reason.

"Travelling through the veils isn't all that hard." Inara said. "It's all about concentration. Well, for me it is anyway. But then, travelling the veils is something that I was born with. Even if I dislike the Fae world."
Inara leaned forward and brushed her finger tips down Eric's cheek. "What kinds of things?" she asked softly, her eyes curious. She loved to learn about the beings that she was supposed to know. She felt like she was claiming back part of her heritage each time she spoke to a demon, or a vampire, or even another Fae, even though they didn't quite know what she was.
The gems in her owl pendant gleamed, the knowledge that she was finding sinking into the stones so she would never forget. It was her protect against loosing all her memories to Time. She never wanted to forget the things she had experienced, or not experienced due to her refusal. Inara let herself fall into the shadows of Eric's eyes, wondering what she could find out about herself through him. Her hand was still reached out between them and dropped slowly to the table, finding his other hand and slipping into it.
