Adryan Lexington
I know there's a reason you're forcing a smile
You hide what you're feeling and you have for a while
I can tell that you're falling
And you feel that you can't go on
But a new day is calling
And you'll see that the feeling is gone

Face Claim: Zooey Deschanel
Abilities: Empathy – Can sense and feel others emotions
Personality: Eccentric may be putting it too mildly while speaking of Adryan. One moment she could be a heartless bitch and the next she could be your best friend. Not that she had a temper, quite the opposite. Nothing really gets her mad, however hurt her and she extracts revenge at all costs. Although she normally gets along with most people, like everyone there are a few people she just can’t stand. That’s where the emotionless bitch part of her shines through. Not many would peg her for the dark and twisty type, but she is just that. She thinks people get what they deserve and though she finds wonder in the world she sees evil as well.
On quite the opposite note she is the type of girl that really will dance in the middle of a street in the pouring rain with you. She likes to be random and do whatever pops into her head, the moment it pops into her head; whether it be riding a bicycle through the country or hoping on the next flight to an exotic destination. Flitting from one idea to the next with no real concern for the consequences is the reason she never took up with a real career and has continued to do odd temp jobs here and there. This child-like wonderment at the world makes her seem careless and bubbly; she seems to be the girl everyone would want in their lives. However, you know the saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.”

Strengths:
• Child-like Wonder: Unlike most people who have lost the wonder they felt for the world as a child, Adryan never did. She continues to laugh at seemingly small things and always enjoys simply splashing in puddles.
• Computers: Through the years of temping at places like law firms and small businesses she has gained a high understanding for computers and their workings.
• Conversation: Never does the conversation with her die down to an awkward silence; even if it means spouting out a totally random topic when she feels the conversation dying down.
• Untamed Looks: Adryan always has the ability to look just the right amount of messy. So it doesn’t look as if she tried hard(which she most likely didn’t) but everything seems to be a too perfect amount of messy.
• Music: Although she very rarely plays for other people, Adryan is quite accomplished in the piano and guitar, and doesn’t have a bad voice, though it isn’t the best either.
Weaknesses:
• Revengeful: When it comes down to it, Adryan can hold a grudge far longer than most people, not to mention the fact that she likes to exact her own revenge instead of waiting for karma.
• Emotionless: At times Adryan can be cold, not caring about the feelings of others. If only that wall would be torn down.
• Establishing Lasting Relationships: Although she is quite good at forming quick bonds with strangers, rarely does it go further than that.
• Hard-Headed: She likes things done her way…no other way is acceptable.

Bio: It was December 28, 1986 when Adryan was born, or at least that’s the day they think she was born. No one is for sure because her birth mother dropped her off at a hospital without filling out any paper work. She just walked in placed the unusually silent baby on a bench and walked out. At fist the nurses thought the small child was dead, but her piercing blue eyes were wide with life, she simply never cried. It didn’t take long for a young couple located in London to adopt the young babe. Donovan and Claudia Lexington were unable to have children due to complications in the first pregnancy when the child was born dead. When they first saw Adryan they were blown away by her eyes, which stared at them with unlimited knowledge. Because of her icy blue eyes Donovan always called Adryan his Ice Princess, not real original, but fitting nonetheless.
Not long after adopting her did the young couple notice how different Adryan was. The only times the young child cried was if either Donovan or Claudia were sad, if one of them were upset she would simply scream. She even reacted that way when around others with strong emotions. They ignored it, chalking it up to coincidence until she was five. It was the first time since she was a baby that her mother’s sister, Mollie, had came to visit. Mollie, being a witch herself, noticed Adryan’s strange gift after the young child threw a tantrum for no apparent reason. The evening Claudia confided in Mollie that she was upset at the road her life was taking and that she felt hopeless about it. After performing a few tests Mollie explained to Donovan and Claudia that Adryan was a preternatural, her strongest (and possibly only) power being empathy. She tried to explain that they should find someone who could train Adryan how to control the emotions she absorbed. Her whole life Claudia had ignored the fact that her sister was a witch and that people like her existed. She was happier this way, all she wanted was a normal little girl. So instead of taking Mollie’s advice Donovan and Claudia chose to ignore Adryan’s talent, forcing her to train herself as she grew.
Life wasn’t particularly hard for Adryan, it was just difficult for her to control her feelings….well, others people emotions. The only way she could figure out how to do it was to put a shield up, she could still strongly sense other people’s emotions, but she disconnected herself from the emotions, even her own; making her almost emotionless.
At the age of 18 Adryan met Brandon Fitzgerald, a 20 year-old academic. It didn’t take her long to fall head-over-heels for him and by the time she turned 20 they had gotten engaged. It seemed like the perfect union. Both came from strong and semi-wealthy families and Brandon had plans of becoming a Business Analysts. He was always cool and calm, no matter what happened, which made it harder for Adryan to feel his emotions, part of the reason she loved him so much. She could let down the walls and not worry about a wave of emotions crashing down on her. Those feelings, however strong, didn’t last. At their engagement party and old childhood friend of Brandon’s showed up, and for the first time Adryan was blown away with an over-powering feeling of love…but it wasn’t hers….it was Brandon’s. And it was directed at the leggy blonde standing in front of them.
Devastated at the fact that Brandon was truly in love with someone else Adryan called off the wedding, refusing to give a reason. After that everything in London reminded her of him. She had to get away. Get to somewhere where his memory wasn’t. She now travels where ever she is needed. Her jobs range from house sitting to office receptionist. Rarely does she have a chance to even unpack before moving to a new city, but she likes it that way.
RP Sample: Instead of enjoying the party like she should have been, Adryan was too preoccupied by trying to keep all the feelings out of her. As soon as she had entered the crowded room emotions crashed into her like a wave. She staggered slightly against Brandon and in the flash of an eye she recovered from the shock and her shields had been snapped into place. She felt the cold eyes of her Aunt Mollie watching her carefully with what seemed like approval. Their eyes met briefly, Adryan’s empty blue ones meeting the deep blue ones of her aunt. Mollie nodded slightly before taking her seat next to Adryan’s mother. Adryan and Brandon walked hand in hand into the crowd. A bright smile was painted flawlessly on both of their faces as they thanked everyone for coming and they beamed happily at each other while people congratulated them on their engagement. All the comments were the same, “Oh what a beautiful couple you make!”, “You will be such a beautiful bride!”, “your parents must be so proud!”. It truly was the perfect match.
Their dads worked together at the Bank of England and had become fast friends. It didn’t take long for the two fathers to set up a meeting for the young couple. As if by luck the couple hit it off. Adryan complimented Brandon’s quietness perfectly and his quietness made it easy for her not to feel his emotions. Before long the young couple was madly in love and Brandon popped the question on Adryan’s 20th birthday. Of course she said yes.
After greeting everyone the couple took their seats in the middle of a long table and all the guests slowly made their way to their seats. Adryan was politely chatting with Brandon’s parents and sister who sat on his left when their conversation was interpreted by a melodic voice. The young woman standing behind them was dressed in a loose red sundress that showed off her fabulously tanned and long legs. Her platinum blonde hair feel to her shoulders in perfect curls that framed her emerald green eyes, which were purely focused on Brandon. It hit her like a train.
Love.
That’s the emotion that swept so powerfully over her that she was nearly blinded for a moment. At first she thought it came from the young woman, a cousin maybe…no. She was wrong. She wanted to ignore it, to push the feeling aside, but she couldn’t. It came from Brandon. Her icy blue eyes tried to well up with tears, but she pushed them back. How could she not of known before? He didn’t love her, not in that way. This…this leggy blonde was the one he loved. How could she marry someone whose heart longed for another? ”I’m sorry…I…I can’t...” Adryan’s voice was soft as she numbly rose from her chair and ran out the door and out of Brandon’s life.
