A lot of people have opinions about how she conducts herself and lives her life but she’s always known that if they knew her life they’d probably have a different opinion about why she is how she is. She doesn’t want a free pass, if she did she’d tell people about her life.. No all Karlie wants is to enjoy her life. Life’s short, why spend it being boring?? Yeah her life gets really boring and lonely sometimes, she really just needed to learn to trust people and find someone or something that calms her.

Bio: Peter Rhys and his wife Jenna were that couple that always seemed somewhat perfect. They were high school sweet hearts and prom king and queen and when they got married it was… well… perfect. Everyone always expected them to be that couple that settled down and had the picket fence and 2.4 children. However it didn’t quite work out that way. They got the pretty mansion and Peter got a full time job and Jenna got an alcohol problem. It was always pretty vague what Peter did but he travelled a lot and made a lot of money. Jenna stopped caring, she had been trying to become a model or an actress and just could not get a foot in, she was never ‘quite what they were looking for’. Having her husband ‘keep’ her was perfectly okay. She got whatever she wanted and never even stopped to think that her husband wasn’t happy. He wasn’t. He never had been. The more Jenna drank and the worse she got the more he was scared to leave.
Karlie’s story really starts more than eight whole years before her birth. Peter had been having an affair with a woman for a while and though Peter didn’t know, she fell pregnant with his child. Once she found out she broke off their relationship, giving birth to a little girl who she left on the bathroom floor at a bus station. Peter didn’t have a clue and as soon as she left the baby she regretted it horribly. It is the kind of life decision that you can’t take back no matter how much you want to. She slowly picked her affair with Peter back up. God knows why either off them went back. Maybe it was easy and comfortable or maybe there were honest feelings between the two, but the affair continued to last for the next 6 years.
The second time she tried to push Peter away, Peter seemed a lot more reluctant to leave. She continued to push him away and eventually she disappeared. Peter didn’t quite know what to do. He may have been married but he wanted her back. His wife found out about the affair and told him if he continued it she’d kill them both and she was crazy enough to do it. However a few months after she’d completely disappeared, a friend of Peter’s told him that he’d found her. Peter didn’t quite know what to do but in the end did what he WANTED to do… He went looking for her. When Peter found her she was in some little dive flat and seemed to be barely able to look after herself. Peter had been trying to win her back with promises of running away together when he heard a baby crying in the background.
Upon hearing the child’s tears followed the sound and returned with a small child in his arms. The little thing bore an uncanny resemblance to the pair of them and when he questioned it she admitted everything. She’d become pregnant with their child and worried about his reaction so ran. From the moment he looked down at the little thing in his heart he was besotted. He was honestly hurt that she kept his child a secret from him and told her he was going to fight for custody. With this she came out with a confession she probably should have kept to herself. “She’s all I have and after last time I don’t think I could bare to lose her…” Well that was the can of worms opened. He finally got her to tell him about their eldest daughter and how she’d left her on the floor of a bathroom but that was all she would give him.
Peter ransacked her house and took as much as he could and took the baby home with him, letting her mother know that if she tried to get her back the stories he’d tell would mean she would never get her back. His wife hadn’t been happy in the slightest bit. Over the years she’d decided that she hadn’t wanted children around to cramp her style. So to have not only a child but her husbands illegitimate love child.. Well she hated it. Because of this Peter found himself taking on everything. He had to hire a nanny for Karlie during the day as Jenna refused to look after her and found it really hard to even stay in the house with her. To Peter, Karlie was the most amazing thing in the world, she was his little girl, and it was so much easier for him when she was a baby because she was so much work it make it harder for him to have time to worry.
Once Karlie got a little bit older, Jenna started seeing her as a bit of a pawn, signing up her to do modelling and basically living out her dreams via the little girl that called her Mommy. Once Jenna took over with Karlie, Peter started to feel pushed out. Any time he tried to take control or have some time with Karlie he was reminded how he cheated on his wife and basically told he didn’t deserve Karlie. From the day he’d found out about his children, Peter was determined to find his eldest but had so little to go by. There were a few stories with the same basis around the few months he could guess his daughter had been born and though he was always drawn to one he never knew for sure. He followed up leads on all the stories, trying desperately to find his other daughter. He became bitter about the fact his little girl was out there, probably thinking she wasn’t wanted and slowly began to resent Karlie for being there when he sister wasn’t.
Peter never said the words out loud but as the years went by Karlie and Peter weren’t close. As a toddler Karlie used to spend her days cuddled up on her daddy and would beam from ear to ear when he came in the door. But Karlie was the reminder of everything Peter didn’t have and Jenna liked to remind him that because of that, she’d make sure Karlie grew up to know what a bad person he was. In the end Peter resorted to giving Jenna her own way, throwing money at his wife and daughter and letting Jenna put her through modelling and beauty pageants and acting classes while he’d much rather sit in his kitchen with his daughter icing cakes and drawing him pictures.
Because of the life Jenna chose for Karlie, she didn’t really have a normal school life. She spent a lot of time away and when she was there she was bullied just because of what she was. She didn’t have many friends and so she didn’t have anyone to turn to and well there was a stage when she was way too young for men. Once men did become a factor however… Karlie was never left lacking guys who were interested. I mean she was hot and guys at that age only care about one thing.
Everyone knows that a teenage girl should be thinking about boys, and arguing with their best friends and wondering if their bum looked big in this or that. Karlie’s life was flashing light, a little more towards me, lift the chin a little more, pull in your stomach, pout a little bit more… it was a life style that would seem to most to be perfect in every other 13 year old girl but Karlie hated it. It was her mothers dream, not hers. Karlie was much more content as an 8 year old, stood on the chair in her Aunt Rose’s kitchen, baking brownies and pretending to be an award winning chef. Those were the days Karlie actually wore a grin on her face and not a faked smirk or an award winning pout.
A huge factor in Karlie’s life had always been her agent, Phil Stewart. He’d managed her and her work since she was 4 years old, in that time he’d worked with her mother, pulled strings to get her jobs and get her noticed. Karlie just did what she was told. But it was around the time she turned 13 that she began to notice the cracks in her family. It was also the time that her mothers drinking got excessively worse. Since her dad started to make it seem like he didn't want to know, Karlie had become a mommas girl. Now this wasn't because she was so close to her mother or anything of the likes really, she was convinced if she just did as she was told, if she made her mom proud that it would all be okay… Her mom would be back like she was.
It got a point where Jenna would spend days locked up in her room with the contents of the liquor cabinet, only venturing out to go get more. Karlie began attending meetings and photo sessions on her own. Well that wasn’t entirely true, Phil was always there. Phil had never been a bad guy. He’d drive Karlie home from a shoot and some times his hand would wander but Karlie didn’t even really know she it was wrong. She was only 13 years old and she’d never really attended school or anything so she didn’t know an other wise to think this wasn’t normal. His wandering hands turned to comments. Saying how much he loved her body, how he’d love to explore it. Karlie knew enough to know that wasn’t right but as per usual she kept her mouth shut.
The first time it happened was the most scared Karlie had ever been. She’d been changing after a shoot for a small commercial that would only be aired in Japan, but it was work and Karlie hadn’t been pulling in the jobs like she used to. She’d been left alone by the shoot manager to change when Phil came in. Karlie grabbed at the nearest thing to cover herself up. She’d only had her top off but that alone left her uncomfortable. His eyes fixated at her chest as walked towards her. Once her got closer, Karlie began to back up. She stopped suddenly, nearly falling over a clothes rack. He looked her over and started to say things, things that had Karlie scared, things about how he was going to ride that body, how he couldn’t wait to get inside it… things no man should ever say to a 13 year old girl, a certainly not a man 33 years her senior. A man who had children older than the girl in question.
He ripped the top that covered her up from beneath her hands. As she screamed at this, his hand collided with her face. He held his hand tightly at her jaw as he straddled her petite body lying weak on the floor and told her that she’d be quiet and she’d do as she was told or she wouldn’t want to know the consequences. So as he pulled the rest off the clothes off her body and did exactly what he wanted to her, Karlie just turned her head away from him and tried to fight back the tears. The more she tensed up the more it just so she just had to try and bare the pain and try not to become more scared than she was. When he was done he threw clothes at her, told her that was that she was going to wear and that he’d meet her in the car.
She got out of that car and into the house as fast as she could. She ran straight to her mother. She told her mother it all, well told her the best she could between the tears. She wanted her mother to hold her and tell her everything would be okay, to tell her she was safe and no one would be able to hurt her again… that it’d be sorted out. But instead her mothers reaction shocked her. She just shrugged. Asked Karlie if she didn’t think she was being a little selfish after everything he’d done for her. She basically told her if she knew what was good for her she’d keep on doing it and she’d keep her mouth shut.
Completely scared to face the outside world, Karlie hid out in her room a few days. Her dad had come home from a job and seen the mark on her face but she claimed she walked into a camera on the shoot and he believed her… she figured his inability to tell she was lying was because he hadn't particularly cared to begin with. Every mirror in her room was covered with towels or sheets. She spent most of her time huddled under her duvet just crying. The lights hadn’t been on the whole time she’d hidden in there and the curtains stayed shut. She didn’t want to see herself. Her legs where covered in bruises, one side from him gripping fiercly at her legs and the other from where he’d thrusted hard into her reluctant body. She even had friction burns from the way he ripped off her panties. And all she could do about it was cry.
After a few days held up, Karlie’s mom finally whipped her ass in to gear. Jenna accused her of being selfish and spoiled and told her to pull herself out of this mood. She started sending Karlie back to the shoots. It was okay the first few times but after that he did it again. It got to the point it was becoming a regular occurrence. Every time Karlie had wanted it to end he made it clear to her if she didn’t he’d drop her and her mother would hate her. And Karlie believed it. She only stuck at the modelling because she wanted her mother back but it wasn’t happening. If ever she discussed it with her mother, she pretty much said the same thing, told her that she had to do it. It continued for a long time. It got to the point it drove Karlie mad.
When it had been going on a little over a year, Karlie started doing everything she could to get out of the house, away from her mother. She blamed herself for what was happening to her. Thought that she’d done something wrong. She’d been a bad daughter and this was what she had to do to make it up to her mother. There was so many what ifs. If she’d given him the wrong signals or something… she didn’t know. She was barely 14 and Karlie was going out, normally hanging with people older than her. Sleeping with guys she didn’t even know because if she was with someone else it made her head stop thinking of him. The sad thing was she never enjoyed it, she just felt like it was something she had to do. Like it was all she was good for.
It wasn’t until a while after her parents split it all stopped. She was just turned 15 when her mom told her what was going on. She’d just got in from school… had a fight with some chick at cheerleading practice… She’d thrown her bag down and shouted to her mom, asking if she wanted anything from the kitchen…. Walking into the kitchen before she’d got a response she’d noticed broken glass, plates… it looked like just about everything that could have been thrown across the room had been, that was when her mom had come running through the house, yelling at her not to go into the kitchen, but it was too late. Her mom had clearly been crying but Karlie didn’t ask what was wrong, or what had happened in the kitchen, she just ran to her mother throwing her arms around her.
Karlie spent hours just letting her mother cry in her arms. Sprawled across the dining room floor her head in Karlie’s lap was the biggest mess. It was the first time in a long time that Karlie had seen her sober… and probably the last…. Her mom hadn’t told her anything that night… just cried herself to sleep. Karlie however hadn’t slept that night. How could she with her mom in that state? Karlie hadn’t gone to school the next day either and when her mother awoke she’d explained how Karlie’s dad had left. She couldn’t believe it… She’d known he hadn’t been there… but when had Peter ever been there besides when Karlie was too young to even remember?
She’d said he’d admitted to seeing another woman. Jenna’s exact words were “after some discussion he decided it was best that he left.” but Karlie knew that in all honesty the state of the kitchen was her mothers doing and what choice did he have but to leave after that? Crazy as it may seemed, Karlie waited for her dad to call her… to tell her his side of the story. She was his daughter, he’d at least ring to see how she was right? Wrong… Peter didn’t get in touch with her. She’d been told not long after her parents divorce was finalised, by the same cheerleader on the squad that she’d had a fight with the day her dad left got on Karlie’s back saying that her father had married someone else.. How he had a new wife and a new family and didn’t want anything to do with her.
Karlie couldn’t believe it. All she knew about her own father was what she got from someone at school that hated her. I mean they’d been friends for a while but when that stopped she did everything she did to make sure Karlie’s life was a misery. Karlie battled through though. She pretty much became a mother to her own mother because Jenna’s intoxicated state meant she was pretty much useless. Karlie had picked up neat freak ways, not being able to leave the house untidy when she went to bed because she didn’t want her mom to have to wake up to a messy house. However by the time Karlie returned from school every day it would be a mess once more.
It was 4 am on the 24th of August when her life really changed forever. Karlie had left her mother on the couch sleeping the night of the 23rd, she’d fallen asleep there after yet another night of drinking herself till she passed out. Karlie had covered her over with a blanket and kissed her gently on the forehead before heading up to bed. But then at nearly 4 am she’d heard a knock on the door. Her mom had been closer so she’d left it to her to get it but then when it continued Karlie knew she had to get up. As she got to the door there was still no sign of her mother and well Karlie, people say they know when something has happened to someone they love, maybe Karlie was naive, or it was the fact she’d grown so far apart from her in the almost a year since her parents break up… but Karlie thought nothing of it… she figured she was still passed out in the living room.
She’d opened the door to 2 police officers. Now none of what was said to her even sticks in her mind now. She pretty much broke down upon hearing the news. The news that her mother had died in a car accident. She must have left the house after Karlie went to bed. God knows why and she clearly must have known she wasn’t okay to drive. It wasn’t fair!!! How on earth was it fair? All Karlie had was her mom and now she didn't even have that. Her mom's best friend had arranged the funeral while Karlie spent a good few days just locked up in her room crying. She wasn’t sure what else she was supposed to do. Her world was broken and the pieces were scattered down at her feet. She spent those few days with Jane, her mom's friend, and she was informed that her dad would come to the funeral and take her back with him. Karlie had the two days leading up to her mothers funeral to pack up and say good bye to the home she grew up in. Karlie hadn’t really had all that many friends and the guys she did talk to were just harmless flirting, nothing ever got serious. Especially after her dad left, Karlie was starting to believe that everyone you love leaves you. This hadn’t boded well for her theory.
Karlie couldn’t even sit through the funeral. It was a literal sort of hell for her. She’d walked out half way through the service and ended up sitting herself down on a small bench by the graveyard. It was late august and it was pretty much a gorgeous day. She’d needed time alone, but the ass that graced the seat next to her, at the time hadn’t been unwelcome. Chris… Her dad hadn’t even introduced him to her, in fact he hadn’t spoken to her. She’d spent all her time with Jane. The first thing Chris had said was about how short he felt compared to everyone else in their. Karlie had turned to look at him telling him to imagine how it felt to be only that tiny bit over 5 foot.
They’d hit it off. He was the first person to even get a smile. She knew who he was from the second he’d told her his name but his hand on her bare knee… It’d been him trying to comfort her. She knew that as much as he did. But his hand really did feel nice there. Karlie had leaned up and kissed him. Karlie had never known a guy to want anything more from her than this and Chris had never said no, he’d never ever asked if she was sure she should be doing it. He just kissed her back. He still hadn’t said anything as she took him by the hand and led him into the church rest room.
After her mother’s funeral Karlie had to move cross state to live with her father and her step family. She’d had her whole life, her career and her… men ripped away from her. She’d felt rather lost stuck at her dads. His place wasn’t her home and she didn’t get on with her step-mom or sisters. She’d spent every stolen moment she could in her bedroom with Chris. She made out to her dad he was the only person she could talk to, that she could open up to him. But really the most talking they ever did was her asking if he had a condom. Like hell she was getting pregnant. Karlie didn’t do children. Or more they didn’t do her. Karlie couldn’t even bring herself to care for someone after the day she’d lost her mother, let alone tell them so. The word love couldn’t even bring itself out of her mouth. She didn’t care for Chris but he made her feel something other than lost. She became and expert at sneaking about, biting her lip and keeping quiet. Well she didn’t want her whole family to find out what she was doing.
Before Karlie, Chris had been cut off from the world a little, but he had a good life going for him. But the more Karlie kept her feelings bottled up the more she felt she needed him because he made those little voices disappear. That was all Karlie ever wanted him for but Chris, well he always seemed to read more into it. Karlie would call him when SHE needed him and just expect him to be there. He’d never told her no, let her know he was busy, so she’d never known anything wrong in doing so. But Chris slowly began to lose everything; his job, his social life, his friends. She’d slowly broken him until he had nothing but her.
It was when Karlie realised the hold she had on him that things got nasty. She realised that she could have him when she wanted him, making it more about her than it’d been before. She’d flaunt herself and then tell him he couldn’t have her. She’d tell him it was all off and never to talk to her again just to see him beg her not to do this. She never normally held it out long. She’d wait for the begging to stop and him to walk out the door to call and tell him to get to her bedroom. There was only one exception to this… She probably drove him to far. It was the only time that when Karlie had said no, Chris had told her that she wouldn’t stick to it. To have her game plan questioned wasn’t acceptable for Karlie. She turned to threats, told Chris if he didn’t go she’d tell her dad what they had been doing. He warned her, he said if he had to walk out that door he wasn’t walking back through it. She told him to go and he did. He also stuck by his word.
He tried moving on, he met a girl and he got a new job. He even moved out of Karlie’s dad’s place. He was moving on and Karlie couldn’t handle that. In her eyes that wasn’t fair. It had been a few weeks, not long but Karlie had heard her step mom from downstairs, telling her dad how much Chris was in love… Karlie was on good terms with the people that Chris had once called friends, and they knew all about Chris’s new girl. They told Karlie all about this party she’d be at that night. It was Karlie’s time to strike.
Never one to look anything less than amazing, Karlie looked like she was ready to kill that night. She was barely 18 by this point. And their thing had been going on just under 3 years. Karlie was that girl that walked into the party and eyes fell upon her. She had the girl she was after pointed out to her and Karlie went on the attack. Acting oh so casual to begin with, Karlie took to drinking and talking, and then Karlie dropped the bomb. She acted like she didn’t know of this girl's rendezvous with Chris when really she knew almost all of it. She told her of how her step brother had seduced her, made her feel guilty every time she tried to finish it, and how he’d now finally got bored of her and moved onto someone else. And then Karlie did the name dropping… and she watched and waited the look of disgust.
In that short conversation Karlie had made him seem like a sick pervert, that he seduced a 15 year old at her mothers funeral. She’d managed to make him seem like a nasty piece of work. Chris’ poor girlfriend had then sloped off with a cell phone to her ear, screaming down the phone, calling him the very things that Karlie had made him out to be. He turned up at the party trying to make her tell him what was wrong, but she just punched him in the face as Karlie watched on. Chris had clearly worked it where it all came from when he saw Karlie there though.
He cornered her a little later on in the night, it had been upstairs as she’d come out of the bathroom and he pinned her to a wall. He got harsh, held her to the point, he actually hurt her. His words where just as harsh as his actions. He called her every name under the sun, mentioned everything he knew would hurt her, told her how even her own mother would have killed herself before seeing what a whore her daughter had become. But then his tune changed, he told her he knew she loved him, that this had proved that. But it wasn’t true and Karlie was not going to let him believe it. Instead she told him he made her sick but thanked him for being so much fun over the years. Giving her so much entertainment!
Karlie had gone home that night to find her dad waiting for her. Chris had told her dad everything and told him accurately. As her father approached her about everything that happened Karlie had the most genuine break down she’d had in a very long time. She told her dad that everything Chris said was true but that she was scared about the person that she was becoming. She tried to open up to her dad. The look of disgust on her dads face when he bought it up really made it hit home that she’d done something bad. Her dad was horrified and not only did she not blame him but she also hated that she’d made him feel that way. She had never really known that her dad’s pride in her meant so much but now that it was gone she hated it.
In an attempt to make her dad under stand her Karlieann muttered the words “Daddy.. I was raped a few years ago.” Her dad called her a liar. She couldn’t blame him!! For how often she’d lied to him and considering some of the disgusting lies she’d told… She wouldn’t believe her either. Karlie just sat there in tears and clenched her eyes, whispering an ‘I hate you’ just loud enough for him to hear it and heard the words “I’m done.. I can’t do this anymore… Get your stuff and go!” in return. So she did. She packed her stuff into her car and got in it and drove, never really having anywhere to go. No destination. Nothing but a car, a bag and fear.

Happiness this good... well the kind that actually had a constant smile almost tattooed on Karlie's face, the kind where you feel warm and fuzzy when you think of your life, the kind where there is nothing your not happy about or that you'd like to change... That was something rare in Karlie's life. And Karlie should have known that the fact she had happiness... the fact she actually thought something might just go alright in her life for once....................... well she was an idiot for not realising it wouldn't last.
Everything really had been so good. She had the guy, who never stopped making her feel loved and amazing. In D's arms Karlie really did feel like she was the most amazing person in the world... it was just the way that he made her feel. She had hers and D's little bump... it had been 8 and a half months and yet Karlie still couldn't quite believe she was gonna be a mom!!! It was looking to be completely amazing! As well as her own life, the lives of all her friends seemed to be slotting into place and anyone that knew Karlie well knew that her friends were a really really big deal to Karlie. To know that things were going good for them was one of the best things for Karlie to know.
D hadn't been around all that much because Sadie had been staying. Karlie sorta should have seen it coming, he was never really around during the day when Sadie was staying. Either D figured all they did all day was sit around and watch cheesy movies, or he was hoping if he left them alone long enough they'd kill one another and he could get some peace. Although, she hoped it was the first. She'd been having the time of her life. And no matter how pregnant and exhausted and gross she'd felt she'd been making the most of everything, even having had what turned out to be one of the best Christmases ever.
Today D was out at work, and Sadie had gone out............ somewhere... Karlie wasn't too sure. Yes shock horror.... they left her home alone! The way everyone acted you'd think Karlie was incapable of looking after herself. She was just pregnant... and plenty of pregnant women managed it. But D knew she loved him fussing. Karlie was using her time alone to get away with cleaning the apartment. The TV was on in the back ground but Karlie wasn't really paying all that much attention, it was something boring.... day time TV or the news and those weren't Karlie's kinda shows.
Karlie had been pottering about the living room when the words "horrific murder" graced her ears. Of course, being a hunter, those words caught her attention. Karlie's eyes averted to the TV as she moved to sit on the sofa. They were talking about the victim... a young girl... around 17-19 or so the new reporter had said. They were urging anyone who had any information to call 911... and then they showed the CCTV footage that had been captured. And well... Karlie's jaw dropped the floor....
As it went to back to the studio... well... she couldn't believe it... it couldn't be surely? Karlie went to the bedroom, taking her computer out to the living room. She found the clip and she must have watched it a couple of hundred times.... concentrating on one part and then another as tears tumbled gently down her face. It couldn't... he wouldn't... and he had her and a baby on the way and why would he jeopardise that.........?
But cliche as it sounded the camera didn't lie... and she'd seen what the camera was telling her enough times now to know what it was saying.... the guy the police were looking for.... it was Damon. It was the guy that she'd agreed to marry and spend her life with. It was the guy who's baby she was carrying right now. It was the guy she'd believed when he'd claimed he'd changed.
What had she been naive to think he'd change for her? For their baby? She couldn't see how he'd do this to her, why. She'd paused the clip on the actual killing... the part where the knife dug into that poor girls stomach. Karlie could help but think there was something sorta humorous about where he'd stabbed her aswell... and the fact she sorta looked like Karlie. What... was he trying to tell her something?
Seeing what she'd seen had caused Karlie to rush to the bathroom... because it made her physically sick to her stomach. Sat on the bathroom floor, head against the wall and hands clutching desperately at her bump as she cried! For a good while she'd cried. Until she'd heard D come home. Karlie had stayed sat on the bathroom floor. Just crying.... not wanting to move. She didn't want to see his face. The same face she'd seen kill someone. An innocent human being that didn't deserve it. This was all such a mess... what the hell was she going to do?
