Bio: The eldest son of Vasilios and Ileana of Sparta, brother of Kozma and Pythia. His father, Vasilios was a famed Spartan general and he was expect to follow his father’s steps and so the general pushed his son farther and harder than any other soldier. Vasilios would accept nothing less than perfection out of him.
And Theron was eager to make his father proud, becoming stronger, faster and more brutal than any warrior in Sparta.
Sent into battle, he was violent and bloody, showing no sign of fear. Due to his cruelty and prowess in battle, Theron soon rose through the ranks of the Spartan army and was famed as one of the best warriors ever known in the land, and before long he was leading an army of thousands himself. Never defeated in battle, defeat had never been closer than the day he faced an army of savages who had powerful and unnatural beasts at their command. Watching his soldiers fall like flies against a superior army and mortally wounded, Theron called out to Ares, the god of War and made a deal. If Ares was to save him and his army and grant them victory on that day, he would become his faithful servant for no less than one hundred years.
And so Ares sent a powerful dragon to Theron’s aid. Draco, as the magnificent beast was called, his shadow obscuring the sun itself, it brought fiery death to his enemies and created a bound with the Spartan warrior. He was now the raider, the only one that the dragon would allow to ride on his back.
For the duration of the next hundred years, he was Ares’ faithful servant. With the god’s boon of strength, immortality and the dragon to aid him, Theron became even more brutal and feared. He followed the god’s orders with a blind passion…but the god of War was greed and didn’t want to give up his champion.
Knowing that Theron had taken a woman’s hand in marriage near the end of his pact of servitude, Ares formulated a plot to remove him from such mundane distractions. In his last night of servitude, the God of War sent his champion of to destroy a temple that supposedly sheltered his enemies.
Invading the temple, the champion of Ares started to blindly slaughter all those inside, something that would haunt him forever. Upon inspection of the bodies of those inside the temple, lay his wife Alexis who had come to worship the goddess Astraea. Devastated, Theron tried to end his own life and jumped to certain death from Mount Aegaleo, but instead as punishment for such crime, the goddess of Justice cursed him to live forever and remember his deed.
Ares in turn offered him to take away his memory of Alexis if he would again serve the god, but his plan backfired when Theron refused to be stripped of the memory of his wife. In anger, Ares bind him at the top of Mount Aegaleo where crows would come down to feast on his flesh every night and at every dawn the god of war would approach him and repeat his offer. Half a century had passed but Theron remained true to his decision and his memory, accepting only the god’s imprisonment as a fitting punishment for his crime.
Eventually Ares lost interest and gave up on him, and by age the chains that kept him restrained eventually became rusty and gave in letting the immortal Spartan free to roam the earth.
The centuries have come and gone, but he still remembers. Now, a dealer of antiques in the modern world, he is a man out of place and time, haunted by memories of the past.
