Sirena of the Blue
If you are down
I will come to chain you to the ground
And penetrate your mind.
If you are lost
I'll be there to break your trust
And ravage all your lust for life, my love
You will never realize
What darkness lies inside
inside my mind.

Personal Style: Rena LOVES anything that appeals to her own mad sense of taste. She rarely wears pants unless she's out for blood, preferring gowns and dresses that accent the few curves she has. Velvet has a special place in her heart, as does lace and embroidery, but with the hotter climate of New Orleans she now leans more toward silk. Around her neck she always wears a small sheathed dagger, no longer than her pinkie, on a silver chain. Unless she has reason to put it up her hair is down and flowing freely, and seems to catch every passing breeze, no matter how faint. On her finger is a ruby ring set in gold, and the loss of it would drive her into a mad rage.
Face Claim: Mena Suvari
Abilities:
- Beautiful voice
- Small bit of glamour
- Control over local waters (Within 50 feet)
- Allure (can draw others to her or command them through song)
- Can call flowers to bloom (Amaranth or Rose, blood-red, twice a day)
Personality: On first sight Rena looks like a very pleasant girl, cheerful and optimistic with good taste and a deep love for music. There is a nearly constant air of musicality to her, and even when walking it seems she's moving to a song only she can hear underneath the sounds around her and sometimes she will break into dance for no apparent reason- one of the more innocent signs of her madness. Any sort of animal charms her and she can coo over them for a good length of time before being distracted, and nature itself seems to respond well to her, bringing blood-red amaranth or roses to bloom at her command, though her father's Glen blood makes it a very limited ability. It's easy to draw a merry laugh from her lips and there is something almost childlike about the way she views the world.
Unfortunately for all concerned Sirena also has a dark side. Under her usual merriment is her mother's darker blood mingling and that gives the mild-seeming girl the characteristic flash to her eyes. When the mood strikes her she can be cheerfully sadistic, taking up a knife to nick a lover while reminding them that 'it doesn't really hurt if you don't think about it' and using all within her vicinity for the attention they shower on her. Her view of the world is completely delusional, seeing life as some idealized cross between a fairy tale and medieval fantasy. Her lover is not dead, he's merely gone on a quest, no matter that he should have died long ago, and any attempt to prove to the contrary is met first first with amused laughter, followed by growing vehemence, and finally by a black rage so murderous that she can only be stopped by the renewal of her delusion or the death of the naysayer. Blood brings out a sort of evil glee and she enjoys playing with it, as well as marking others she claims for her affections.

Bio:
There isn't much that is remembered about Sirena's childhood or revealed to those outside of her immediate family. Born of a cross between the Blue (or Ocean) and the Glen (or Stream) Lorelei at some crossroads within their lands, which border those of both the Earth and the Fae there was an instant sort of status and privileged to her upbringing, being as both of her parents were well-known and respected in their various groups. Both were delighted at having such a beautiful and seemingly-perfect baby and lived on the shore where they could have equal influence on her upbringing. From her father she learned to love the sun and the nature that surrounded his pools and streams; from her mother she took the moonlight, wild waves and winds, and the sound of ships crashing on rocks. Both pleased her equally and she was adored for the balance she represented and denied almost nothing. As she grew and her voice proved just as true as that of her parents yet more affection was showered down on the girl from all of her relatives and those she met, drawing into her a love of attention and an almost inability to cope with any kind of unhappiness.
When she edged into the adolescence of her kind there was another surprise. One day her Mama and Papa came to her and said they'd found someone to be her constant companion, a new friend and someone for her to play with as much as she liked. With all of the delight of a child seeing a new toy she agreed, and in walked Talenon. The half-breed cross between a Lorelei of the Glen and a human he had been spurned from his human home by those who didn't understand his heritage, or so Sirena told herself. All of those people whispering about him being her Papa's bastard child just had to be wrong, he wouldn't do something like that to her or Mama. Why would he want another child when he had HER? With her mind already warped to the direction she needed to believe she accepted him with open arms, generously sharing everything she had, including power and knowledge, and his voice was quite as bewitching as her own- and the human tones of it only drew her more.
As they aged the pair grew closer and closer, finally becoming lovers once Sirena had entered adulthood. This started those NASTY rumors again, but Rena wouldn't hear a word of it and silenced those who spoke that way in any method she could. With their shared taste they were, as far as Sirena could see, perfect for each other and Talenon worshiped her as though she were a goddess. His agreement with her ideas and statements about the world reinforced her delusions and for quite some time the pair lived in virtual isolation on their cliffs, basking in the sea and moving freely between the human world, the Fae lands and that of their kind. Time passes differently for those kinds and neither of them paid much attention as it swam by, but there was always the underlying fear that some day her Talenon would die, leaving her alone. At times the very thought would throw her into a deep depression from which it would take him months to revive her. In the hope of giving her a piece of himself Talenon had a bit of his blood crystallized into a ruby and set it into a gold ring, then presented her with it as a token of love.
Then one day she woke up and he was gone. Everything was neat and his belongings for traveling, including his sword and the necklace and ring she'd given him, were gone. On the table there was a note; it said only that he was leaving on a trip and swore he would be back soon, and that he would always be with her so long as she held a piece of him close. With her worry erased a smile again crossed Sirena's face, as he had never broken a promise, and she went about her day, waiting for him to return from his riding and adventures. Though the wait dragged on and she had to find other things to amuse herself with she still waited for him, willing to drop everything new she'd gained and playing her games. Over a hundred years passed with her in that state.
Finally, about a hundred and fifty years after Talenon had gone on his trip, a sudden thought occurred to her. It was hide and seek, and the note had been meant to give him a head start. With a laugh for his cleverness she set out that day, ready to find her Talenon, wherever he was hiding. Paris, Milan, Tokyo- none of the places showed signs of him, so she moved to the New World, America. There was a place where a good deal of the Fae and others had begun to gather- perhaps he had made his way there as well. With her shipwreck gold and jewels she went there as well and set herself up in a comfortable manor house on the water, singing in different places at night to try and catch the attention of whomever she could. If she played her games long enough he would come. Talenon never broke his promises.
RP Sample:
The waters here were far warmer than the ones she was used to on the stony cliffs of England or the Lorelei lands where she'd spent most of her life- but it was her ocean nonetheless, with the white sand and the variety of small living creatures she could scarcely have imagined in her icy waters where wooden ships had once crashed into the stones. That was only a detail though, and she had no reason to worry about such small things. There was a scent of moisture to keep her from pining for her waves and pools, and the people! By Starlight there were so many of them, and most so passionate and full of life! A bright smile crossed the brunette's face as she took in the sights, the low street surrounded by bars where musicians performed. It was like being steeped in gypsy songs and sent a shiver up her spine.
With a slight sway in her step she let herself walk into such an establishment, filled with younger men and women all enjoying each other's company and the drinks that flowed from the many bottles strewn along the back wall. The faint light from the dusty overhead lamps made her moonlight and alabaster skin glow and her eyes almost seemed florescent blue against the other dim colors of the place while the steely-gray silk of her dress gave every bit of attention to what few curves she had. Reaching out a fine-boned hand she picked up a mic not far from where the young guitarist sat playing a familiar tune, then gave him a mesmerizing smile and began to sing. Her voice soon filled the place and everyone listened in silence as she fed them through the music what she wanted of them. I am Sirena. Remember me.
With the song finished she gave the musician a kiss on the cheek and the rest of the room a smile and wave, then made her way back out onto the street. There were many of this sort of establishment in the city but she would visit every one of them with good music and leave the same message. When she was remembered Talenon would surely hear of it and know it was her. There was no way he could be dead, and she'd prove it by finding him. Then they'd be together again. Next time he wouldn't be allowed to escape so easily.
