(( Looking for those that do NOT know Kayla or only know her in passing. Good and evil welcome. ))
Have you been half asleep
and have you heard voices?
I've heard them calling my name.
Is this the sweet sound that calls the young sailors?
The voice might be one and the same.
I've heard it too many times to ignore it.
It's something that I'm supposed to be.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
the lovers, the dreamers and me.
There was a strange gleam in her chocolate brown eyes, hints of blue leaking into them to make them rather exotic looking as she walked along the rough part of the French Quarter. Her snug, skinny jeans hugged her curves, the off the shoulder shirt provocative but also covering the scar on her other shoulder. Her strappy high heels clacked on the pavement, her hunger still gnawing at her.
The energy she'd drained from the sailor she'd left back in that dark, deserted alley had not been enough. Nothing seemed to be enough. She wanted the power, all the power that was rightfully hers. This vessel was pleasing. So sweet. So innocent. Attractive but a bit skinny for her tastes. But it served the demon's purpose well. No one ever looked at the tiny slip of a woman and thought her a threat.
It was like lambs to the slaughter. They'd find him soon enough.. probably in a few days. His freeze dried body would be hard to identify. Especially with the dog tags she'd taken from him. Humming to herself she heard the cat calls from the shadows and smiled to herself. Oh if they only knew who the bigger predator was tonight.
It wasn't long before she heard footsteps behind her and she simply smiled slowly as she kept walking, her long hair blowing back in the wind and carrying that sweet, comforting scent that she always seemed to carry with her back to the creature's nose. The pathetic mortal she wore like a glove would have been terrified but the demon that had taken charge of her sleeping body knew that the vampire was no threat.
No.. he would be a treat. All that darkness. All that hate and violence stored within him. He'd taste like utter bliss.
Turning down a darker one lane street she slowed and bent down as if to fix her shoe's ankle strap, listening to the nearly silent footfalls."You're gonna be fun sweetheart...I'm gonna enjoy every moment of draining you like a juice box. Are you ready to die beautiful?"[/i], he asked as he got close to her, wanting her fear to lace her blood. Wanting the thrill of the chase and the excitement of her fear.
The look of fear though came from the vampire as she stood and her eyes glazed over with icy blue, her hand shooting out to grip him by the throat and pulling him to her with a strength that she should not have possessed. He thrashed as he saw what she really was, recognizing the beast within that deceptive form but too late. "Wh...who are you?[/i], he asked in fear as she wrapped her arm around him, her face lingering close to his, lips close enough to pass a frosty breath over his face.
"Me? I'm what you wish you could be. I am ugly death and power. Your angel of final death. But shhhh shhh... it won't do you any good to struggle...", she purred as she pressed him back against the alley wall and pinned him there. "I am Theslaugh, demon of ice and death. Now come on love....Give us a kiss leech....we require your power."
And with that her hand left his throat and grabbed his hair, pulling his face to hers as her lips met his, drowning out his scream, swallowing it just as she absorbed his essence. Human were good but creatures of the otherworld were so much better. So much more power inside them that spiced that spark of power.
As she drained him her skin took on a blueish tint, her lips frosted with ice flakes and darker blue, the icy demon drinking like a man in the desert. It was exhilarating! The feel of his dark power soaking through the cells of her claimed body, nourishing it in the black power that she thrived on. Who knew that the silly little redcap she'd leeched off of for centuries would come in so handy, finding the portal that led her back to the land of man from which she'd been banished centuries ago.
Her last vessel had been much more intimidating but this one ....oh she was wonderful. Untainted, so pure. It was a perfect counter balance to her own evil, balancing like a scale of justice. But that would not last long. Just enough to reclaim her own power in full. Enough to allow her to take the dominant role. The little healer's powers of light would be eclipsed and snuffed out. She would be no more.
The thought brought a smile to her lips even as she let go of the husk of the vampire and let him slip to the ground. Taking a deep, delicious breath she exhaled, the frosty breath leaving her lips looking like smoke before the vampire shriveled and turned to dust at her feet, swirling around her ankles as she primped her hair and turned to head back out to the main street.
