Newspaper Thread?

I was thinking...a way to have things for characters to talk about that could be things that they were not in a scene about but something that they might recognize or take interest in to further or enhance other threads and the overall plot of the board could be to have a board for IC News.

The big paper in New Orleans is the Times-Picayune. If we had that up people could post little snippets of stories that might make the paper (EX: Homeless Man Found Mauled in Local Park, or Rash of Missing Women Still on the Rise) with the kind of details that a real news paper might report about incidents that pop up.

Incidentally there could also be a local radio station as well or a TV Board but since it's a text based medium we work with a newspaper might be more workable.

It would also give the Council and it's Enforcers more to do as well because they wouldn't want the truth to end up in print. Creative cover-ups, or lack thereof could add a little spice. It could also give hints about the tears in the fabric between worlds.

(EX: Gas Leak Causes Localized Hallucinations......Residents of the Reynard Parish reported sightings of strange animals at yesterday's Town Hall Celebration. Some were quoted as saying that it looked like "small lizards with wings and horns." Duplox Gas and Power investigated the potential gas leak and found that high levels of natural gas had leaked in the area and produced mass hallucinations in the public.)

Council folks might read something of the nature and go "Oh shit!" or conversely they could have their hands in it working as the cover up for it.

Anyway....just a weird thought that came to me last night.

Okay, I dont mind going ahead and creating a forum for this. I'm just stuck on what we should call it. Something like...Shadow Times? I'm just throwing that out there because it was the first thing to pop into mah head.

Have no clue where to puts it, either. I know. WHAT DO I KNOW? hehe <3

Hmmm, good question. How about we just make an actual board under the Character Owned Boards? It'll just be owned by all of us, since we're gonna all be playing with it. I can make up the board/write up a short blurby for it, even. ^^

And I like Shadow Times! Nothin wrong with short and sweet. ;3

Could pop it in the Human World section. Sort of...like having a stand or machine that folks could buy a paper out of anywhere in the city. If you wanted to go realistic as opposed to a tabloid then you could just use the real one down in NO, The Times-Picayune

or...could made a board in the human world that is Media that could encompass any number of media formats (newspaper, tabloid, radio, TV news, flyers, bulletin boards that hold like Wanted Posters and Missing Posters, Online bulletin boards,etc... ) and kill several birds with one stone..er...board as the case maybe.

....Dammit, now I got the idea for a nosy human newspaper reporter who starts to dig in on the recent monster attacks and/or the Council.

Okay THE SHADOW TIMES is officially up within the Human World forums!

This is not a place to RP per-say, but a place to post things that would be found in any media genre.
It can be a written out newspaper article, or the description of breaking news during your characters favorite television show, etc...

Basically anything to advertise the strange things taking place in our dear New Orleans.
