She'd done this so many times before and hadn't run into a
single problem. Hell, even security got a kick out of the white, pink, and black haired female when she trotted through the mall. No, it wasn't because of her appearance, but because of what she did: Quietly sneak up behind someone, tap their shoulder, shout "Tag you're it!" and bolt. One could thank Ellen DeGeneres for the idea of bringing out one's inner child.
Honestly, this was probably the only reason she went to the mall. She was still living out of a storage unit, but damn if she chose to play tag instead of finding an apartment. Clad in a fitted cropped hot pink and black long sleeved jacket that hit a little above her navel, Kaylie topped off the outfit with a black miniskirt. Pale legs were covered by pink and black stripped stockings, and a pair of boots. Oh, those boots. They hit below her knee with the tongue and had straps that wrapped around her stocking clad calves. The platformed heels added about four inches of height to her already short stature, and while some cringed at the thought of walking in them, Kaylie strolled like nothing was different than going barefoot.
She even ran in them.
Having already gotten a few others involved in her game of tag, Kaylie grinned as she walked briskly through the mall and towards the food court. It was there she saw another "victim" and was quick to sneak up and give the younger teen a bat on the shoulder.
"Tag!" She beamed, staying in her spot long enough for them to turn
around before she bolted with a laugh. And of the few times it worked, the teen took chase with a grin. Darting between people and tables, Kaylie kept her smile and looked back whenever she could. And that would be her downfall.
The main attraction of the mall was set strongly in the middle by the food court. It was on the first floor and was visible through the balcony from the second floor. It was a pale blue, two feet deep, gorgeous water fountain. The bottom was littered with change from hoped for wishes and, once in a while, the poor thing probably suffered the fate of laundry detergent and overflowed with bubbles
now and then. Though today, instead of bubbles, it would be met with the running female.
"Watch it!" The teen that had taken chase had stopped abruptly seeing where they were going, though his shout only made Kaylie look back again.
"Huh?" With furrowed brows, she looked ahead of her again, and threw on the brakes a little too late. Her feet skidded and hands shot out to break her fall...Though it didn't help. Her shins hit the edge of the fountain and the
female went over it, splashing water out with her fall. She didn't do any damage, aside from some bruises probably, though she made no motion to get up just yet.
"Son of a bitch..." She groaned, looking up from her spot. Slowly turning over, she let her legs hang over the edge of the fountain while the rest of her was in the water. Reaching up, she pushed drenched and dyed hair out of her face, suddenly letting out a little squeak at the realization that her legs were not only over the edge of the fountain...but hung open. Snapping her knees
together, her face flooded with color quickly and her head dropped. Shifting, she tried to push herself out of the water, though it seemed more comical to others than common sense to help the woman as she slipped back into the water with a high pitched yelp.
